I love to travel!
Travel has always been a big part of my life and I have been fortunate to have visited many countries and been on some amazing trips.
For a long time my husband’s work took him to Italy so I would hitch a ride and we would explore another corner of this beautiful country. We love Piemonte for its beautiful villages, amazing food and fabulous wines though after a five week trip to Sicily, it has serious competition!
I do love the countryside but I need a fix in a big city every now and again. I’m not fussy! Paris, New York, Istanbul, London or Rome will do! I also love learning about other cultures and trips to India, Jordan, Sri Lanka, Africa and the small towns of Central Turkey have inspired me to travel far and wide whenever I can.
Researching a trip is important. Shortlists of hotels are created, blogs read and books devoured. I hate to miss out on a good restaurant, fabulous shop or interesting hotel. You’re in the wrong place if you’re looking for back packing secrets!
I love a bit of luxury but often I prefer to stay at a cute 3* boutique hotel and splurge on a fabulous meal. Food is important in my travels and restaurants play a big part when visiting a city.
Sharing these experiences is part of the fun and this is why the blog started. As a travel agent with 10 years experience in a previous life, friends and family would often ask where we stay or what restaurants we went to so the blog was designed to answers those questions.
The destination list at the top of the blog will lead you to the many countries I have visited and written about but here are a few of my favourite posts to help you get started!
