Sunday Snapshot: Melbourne

Melbourne Street Art

The hidden and not so hidden alleyways of Melbourne are home to an ever changing display of street art. These open air galleries have become a popular attraction in Melbourne.

In the city, Hosier Lane is one of the best places to go but wander through the inner suburbs of Melbourne and you will see some fabulous street art.

Sometimes the works can disappear in a week or two, to be replaced by another or they may still be there six months later.

Beautiful, vivid colors, and to think this is just gracing the side of a building. Do they disappear because the authorities paint over them?

They are often painted over by other artists Karene. I wrote a post on the street art and then went back a couple of months later and it had all changed. This little guy was a new addition on this visit.

It’s a bit of fun isn’t it Karen. I love the humour a lot of street artists have.

Dazzling street art photo! In the last few years, I’m amazed by the street art I see popping up everywhere, even in some of the most unlikely places.

It’s a bit of fun isn’t it Sonya! Melbourne has some fabulous street art and Hosier Lane is one of the best places to see it. I love seeing how it varies from city to city and as you mention, how it’s found in some incredible places.
